This is the Kind of Change Democrats Need

It's time.

I'm not the only Democrat disappointed with the discussion and the possibility of voting "yes" on cloture in the senate, on the continuing resolution budget bill that would keep the government operating, but which would also concede far too much influence and power to Trump that belongs to Congress when it comes to spending and the budget.  I'm in favor of the "no" vote to cloture.  Democrats were not part of the negotiations, so they should not be expected to vote in favor of this bill.  We got what we expected from the 215 Democrats in the House, a solid no.  The senate leadership is the reason we do not seem to be getting the same from them.

I have a suggestion.  It's time for Chuck Schumer to resign.

That would open the door for Governor Hochul to appoint a replacement, and I would strongly recommend Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.  She gets this.

Maybe that would be enough to change the manner in which this constitutional crisis is viewed, and motivate some other senators to stop protecting their own interests and start looking after ours before it is too late.
